Are you looking for an opportunity in Bridgwater with a market leading subcontractor?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor or a strong Project Quantity Surveyor ready to step up to lead the commercial function on a huge civils package.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking full commercial ownership, working closely with project delivery teams, and leading on procurement, valuations, variations, and client liaison.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all commercial activities on site from pre-contract through to final account.
  • Oversee procurement of subcontract packages, negotiate terms and manage subcontractor relationships.
  • Monitor and report on project budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
  • Prepare and submit accurate interim valuations, CVRs, and cost reports.
  • Manage change control, variations, and early warnings in accordance with NEC/JCT contracts.
  • Attend site meetings with clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • Provide mentoring and support to junior surveyors (if applicable).
  • Ensure all commercial processes are followed and contractual obligations are met.
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a main or specialist contractor environment.
  • Proven track record on cut & carve / structural alteration / RC frame / soft strip projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC and/or JCT forms of contract.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a client-facing, project leadership capacity.
