Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading concrete frame and groundwork subcontractor. The role reports directly to the Commercial Director and will oversee a range of concrete frame, basement and groundwork packages from award through to final account.

About the Opportunity

• Salary: £70,000 – £100,000 + package (dependent on experience) – PAYE or Self‑Employed.

• Company: A top‑tier contractor handling projects from £10 million to £50 million and beyond, operating mainly in the London area.

• Development: The business turns around around £200 million per annum and offers significant progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead quantification, valuation and cost management of concrete frame and groundwork work.
• Prepare accurate cost plans, provisional drawings, bills of quantities and final accounts.
• Coordinate with design teams, contractors and clients to ensure value engineering and cost control.
• Oversee award to completion cycle, ensuring high quality delivery and compliance with budgets.
• Report progress to the Commercial Director and provide strategic input to purchasing and project management.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with a competing concrete frame or groundwork subcontractor in the UK.
• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of UK construction cost codes, NEC, and commercial management.
• Based in or willing to work near London/South‑East; ability to travel to sites across London.
• Hybrid working arrangement possible after probation.
