Job summary

Sphere Solutions is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a major Plymouth-based scheme. You will lead cost planning, procurement, contract management and financial control, collaborating with clients, contractors and the supply chain.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years QS experience, relevant degree, and strong knowledge of contracts and commercial management. BPSS clearance is required due to site sensitivity; NATO/MISWG passport holders preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of quantity surveying experience in construction/infrastructure.
• Degree in QS or related field (HNC/HND/BSc/MSc).
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, procurement and commercial management.
• Experience in cost planning, forecasting, valuations and financial reporting.
• Experience using CostX, QS Suite or PlanSwift.
• Membership in RICS or CIOB desirable.
• BPSS security clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets and cost plans.
• Manage project costs and maintain financial control throughout the lifecycle.
• Review and negotiate contracts, subcontracts and variations.
• Manage procurement processes and evaluate tenders.
• Monitor project progress and forecast final costs.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Prepare interim and final payment applications and valuations.
• Produce financial reports, cost analyses and commercial documentation.
• Support resolution of commercial and contractual disputes.
