Job description

First Task Professional are working with a well established civils and infrastructure contractor to recruit a Senior Quantity for project wins in the Edinburgh area. There is an extremely strong pipeline of work in the city ranging from £2-15m, which currently runs to Q2 2027.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial control systems and report monthly on Cost/Value Reconciliation.
  • Liaise with and advise on all financial aspects of contracts, ensuring that valuations are maximised, certified and paid on time.
  • To monitor progress on site and take a lead issuing required notices in accordance with contract procedures and timescales.
  • Prepare forecasts of cost and value of all trades including Preliminaries, monitor and report on same.
  • To ensure that all quotations are carefully vetted and comply with the specification ensuring that the most competitive bids are obtained.
  • To manage subcontractors accounts accurately and effectively to enhance contract performance.
  • Attend Progress and other meetings as necessary to represent the company's interests.
Qualifications
  • At HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying or relevant construction qualification.
  • Experience of NEC, FIDIC, JCT forms of contract.
  • Strong civils subcontracting background.
  • Open to principal contractor background.
  • IT literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
