Job summary

A construction contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage social housing projects in Wolverhampton. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in residential construction and a degree in Quantity Surveying. A competitive salary of up to £70,000 plus package is offered.

The Role

As our Senior QS, you'll be responsible for managing the full commercial cycle from tender to final account. You'll oversee costs, contracts, and procurement, ensuring our projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of multiple housing and extension projects.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate tenders, valuations, and final accounts.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement and management.
• Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost control measures.
• Provide commercial advice and guidance to project teams.
• Support junior QS staff and contribute to team development.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5+ years' experience as a QS, ideally within social housing or residential construction.
• Strong understanding of JCT contracts and cost management processes.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and commercially astute.
• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar discipline
