First Recruitment Group is representing a growing engineering services business seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Uddingston, Glasgow. The role focuses on MEP projects, managing risk and protecting profitability from tender through final accounts.

You will lead contract reviews, negotiate terms, prepare CVRs and support cost control, while mentoring teams and driving commercial best practice in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Support contract reviews, negotiations and governance.

• Monitor work in progress, debt levels and commercial performance across projects.
• Support the resolution of contractual issues and disputes.

We are recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing engineering services business seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Uddingston, Glasgow.

This is an excellent opportunity to take a key commercial role across a diverse portfolio of MEP projects, working closely with operational, finance and leadership teams to drive commercial performance, manage risk and protect project profitability from tender stage through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

• Support contract reviews, negotiations and documentation in line with governance requirements
• Manage contract terms, obligations, bonds and warranties
• Provide commercial support throughout the tendering and bidding process, including risk assessment
• Prepare and issue subcontract orders and ensure compliance with project requirements
• Support project teams with Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs), cost control and profit improvement
• Manage variations, claims and final accounts to maximise commercial outcomesMonitor work in progress, debt levels and commercial performance across projects
• Support the resolution of contractual issues and disputes
• Work with the Commercial Manager on contract reviews and negotiations
• Mentor and develop operational teams, promoting strong commercial awareness and best practice

About You

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with:

• Significant current or recent experience working on MEP projects
• Working experience of NEC contracts
• Strong experience in contract negotiation, risk management and commercial delivery
• Strong financial and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Proven leadership and negotiation abilities
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across teams
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities
• Full UK driving licence
• Professional membership of a relevant institution desirable
