Job summary

Murphy is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Infrastructure team, delivering a major water project in partnership with Thames Water, as part of the AMP8 programme based in Oxford. You will help ensure governance on site, manage commercial reporting, and prepare valuations and cost reports with contractually compliant documentation.

Applicants should have an HND or degree, be registered with RICS or ICES and working towards chartership, with experience in construction/engineering

Responsibilities

• Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance.
• Management of internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
• Preparation of Valuations/Applications for Payment with full supporting documentation in accordance with the contract.
• Oversee Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant supporting documentation.
• Management of subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts.
• Undertake the contract administration, including maintain associated registers.
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Manage the project change account and be responsible for its preparation, presentation and implementation with the site team and client.

Murphy is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our growing Infrastructure team, delivering a major water infrastructure project in partnership with Thames Water, as part of the AMP8 programme based in Oxford.

Murphy is a long-standing delivery partner to leading water clients across the UK and Ireland, including Thames Water, Severn Trent, Northern Ireland Water, Yorkshire Water, SES Water, Bristol Water, South East Water, and Uisce Éireann, where we operate over 25 facilities under full DBOM contracts.

A day in the life of a Murphy Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Ensure the site team adheres to group procedures and governance

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Surveyor looking to step up.
• Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.
• Experience within a construction/engineering/similar and commercial background.
