Job summary

EKFB is recruiting a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the route-wide Commercial team in Milton Keynes. The role involves independent work and occasional leadership of a small commercial team, with duties around variation accounts, cost control, and valuations for main and sub-contracts.

The successful candidate will prepare interim and final valuations, issue subcontract payments, and provide contractual advice while ensuring compliance with contract and legal obligations.

Qualifications

• Qualified with a Quantity Surveying degree or similar.
• 2) Enrolled in or seeking membership of a professional institution (RICS or similar).
• 3) Experience at Quantity Surveyor level delivering positive commercial outcomes.
• 4) Ability to mentor junior team members and work with a small group.

About The Role

EKFB is proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood.

We’re recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our route wide Commercial team based in Milton Keynes. This role will require you carry out tasks independently (and at times involve this will involve leading a small group of commercial staff) and will involve carrying out both periodical duties and one-off tasks in accordance with deadlines as directed by the senior Commercial team. You will need to prepare and agree variation accounts – main contract and sub-contracts. We would also need you to monitor cost against targets and contract progress against accepted programmes and work plans in conjunction with other team disciplines. We expect you to provide input into change control procedures for EOT, delays and performance adjustment. Another key part of the role is to prepare and agree interim valuations, final valuations, final accounts and sub-contract final accounts. You’ll also need to prepare and issue certification and payment of sub-contractors. It’s essential that you provide contractual advice to management (ensure compliance with contract and legal administration obligations e.g. Timely issue of relevant notices).

About You

• Qualified with a Quantity Surveying degree or similar.


• Enrolled in, or seeking membership of, a relevant professional institution (CICES, RICS or similar).


• Successful experience at Quantity Surveyor level, displaying skill in delivering a positive commercial outcome for the project(s) with which you have been associated.


• The ability to listen, learn and take on board new concepts and carry out actions, whilst mentoring junior team members.


• You must hold a Full Driving License and have access to your own vehicle
