Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £85,000-£95,000 + Benefits

Contract Type: Permanent

A leading residential developer—renowned for delivering high-quality housing and mixed‑use communities across the Southeast—is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to take full commercial responsibility for a major infrastructure and groundworks scheme forming the foundation of an upcoming flagship development in Milton Keynes.

This role offers the chance to join a forward‑thinking business at a critical stage of project delivery. Working closely with senior management, technical teams, and key external partners, you will oversee commercial strategy, procurement, financial control, and the successful execution of all infrastructure works on site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all commercial functions for a large-scale infrastructure and groundworks project.
  • Manage procurement strategies, tender processes, and contract administration.
  • Provide accurate cost forecasting, budget control, and financial reporting to senior management.
  • Oversee subcontractor performance, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Work collaboratively with technical and project teams to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Mitigate commercial risk and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Requirements
  • Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, civil engineering, or major groundworks projects.
  • Background with residential developers, main contractors, or specialist civil engineering contractors.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and contract management skills.
  • Confident in leading commercial operations independently while working collaboratively with wider teams.
  • Ability to drive value, quality, and commercial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
