Senior Quantity Surveyor - £10M Infrastructure Project

Location: Manchester

Contract Type: Permanent/Full-time

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the commercial lead on a £10M infrastructure scheme at Manchester Airport, involving significant earthworks and drainage. This is a high‑profile role with full responsibility for managing project costs and ensuring commercial success from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee commercial delivery, ensuring programme and budget targets are met.
• Lead NEC4 contract management (Option A), including forecasting, cost reporting, and administration.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to drive smooth project delivery.
• Identify cost efficiencies through value engineering and strategic procurement.
• Maintain robust risk management and contractual compliance processes.
• Mentor and guide Quantity Surveyors, encouraging best practice and professional growth.
• Provide accurate performance reports and strategic commercial insights to senior leadership.

About You

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor, preferably within civil engineering or infrastructure.
• Expertise in NEC4 Option A contracts.
• Skilled in managing budgets, particularly within subcontractor‑led delivery.
• Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation abilities.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or similar (RICS/CIOB desirable).
