The ideal candidate has extensive experience in quantity surveying, strong negotiation and dispute resolution skills, and a solid grasp of the full project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Proven experience managing large volumes of contracts through to completion.
• Experience with NEC contracts and strong negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage pre-contract commercial activities including procurement strategy development, tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award recommendations.
• Develop, review, and quality assure sourcing and tender documentation in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
• Provide expert commercial, contractual, and procurement advice to project teams and stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across multiple business functions to support successful project delivery.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Procure and manage contracts, framework agreements, and work packages for best-value outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong supplier and contractor relationships with governance in mind.
• Support, mentor, and develop junior commercial team members.
• Deliver high-quality commercial management throughout the full project lifecycle.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Salary: £63,000 + Up to 10.5% Bonus
Location: Warrington (Hybrid Working Available)

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a high-performing commercial team responsible for delivering major infrastructure and transformation projects across the North West.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with a strong construction background to take ownership of high-value contracts, influence major project delivery programmes, and help drive commercial excellence across a diverse portfolio of works.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage pre-contract commercial activities including procurement strategy development, tender preparation, evaluation, negotiation, and contract award recommendations.
• Develop, review, and quality assure sourcing and tender documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
• Provide expert commercial, contractual, and procurement advice to project teams and key stakeholders.
• Manage stakeholder relationships across multiple business functions, influencing decision-making to support successful project delivery.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial and contractual risks.
• Procure and manage contracts, framework agreements, and work packages, ensuring best-value outcomes.

Essential Experience

• Proven experience managing large volumes of contracts through to completion.
• Strong understanding of Quantity Surveying processes across the full project lifecycle.
• Experience working with NEC contracts.
• Strong commercial negotiation and dispute resolution skills.
• Knowledge of construction programming and scheduling methodologies.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
