Job summary

A prominent service provider in the construction industry is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage contracts and develop cost reports in a hybrid working environment. The ideal candidate will have RICS / CIECS membership and experience with NEC4 Contracts, particularly in Decommissioning projects. This role offers negotiable rates and a contract potentially extending beyond January.

Qualifications

  • Full membership or nearing completion with RICS / CIECS.
  • Experience working with NEC4 Contracts.
  • Civil Engineering background, particularly in Decommissioning projects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and issue notices and correspondence.
  • Identify contractual risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare applications for payment and payment certificates.
  • Maintain registers of variations and claims.
  • Implement commercial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with monthly progress valuations.
  • Produce cost reports and forecasts.
  • Review value management and risk management.
  • Negotiate and administer supply chain contracts.
  • Monitor supply chain procurement plan.
  • Provide contractual advice to project teams.

Job description

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client is currently looking for Senior Quantity Surveyors, the contract can be worked Outside of IR35 and will be an initial contract running till January but with the opportunity to extend after this, the role will be offering negotiable rates and a hybrid pattern of 3 days in the offices in Manchester and 2 days from home with occasional site work being required.

Key responsibilities
  • Undertaking the efficient and effective management and issuing of accurate, timely and compliant notices and correspondence.
  • Ensuring contractual (NEC4) and commercial risks and opportunities are identified to the Contract Leader.
  • Preparation and agreement of applications for payment or the assessment & preparation of payment certificates.
  • Maintaining registers of variations, delay, extension times and claims.
  • Compliant and consistent implementation of the Company’s commercial policies and procedures.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly progress valuations and claims for work completed.
  • Produce pre-Contract tender negotiations & reports where necessary.
  • Produce monthly cost reports, forecasts, and Contract Leader Reports.
  • Review value management and advise on Risk management.
  • Prepare supply chain enquiries, negotiate, administer, and finalise / close out supply chain contracts.
  • Plan and implement change management and cost control.
  • Monitor and update supply chain procurement plan including benchmarking.
  • Provide contractual advice to the project / site team as and when appropriate.
  • Maintaining awareness of the different construction contracts in current use.
  • Understanding the implications of health, safety, and environmental regulations.

The Quantity Surveyor will hold or be nearing completion of a full membership with RICS / CIECS and will also have experience of working with NEC4 Contracts. The client is looking for candidates that have experience in Decommissioning projects and a past record of Civil Engineering knowledge/experience.
