Job summary

A well-established civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage infrastructure and groundworks packages. The role offers a competitive salary or day rate and the possibility of permanent or contract work in a dynamic environment across London and the South East. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience and strong commercial acumen.

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established civil engineering and groundworks contractor with a strong reputation across the South East. Due to continued growth, they're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, managing infrastructure and groundworks packages from pre-contract through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare take-offs and assist with tender reviews
  • Measure works on site and prepare valuations
  • Manage variations, forecasts, and interim applications
  • Monitor budgets and resource allocation
  • Procure and manage subcontractor accounts
  • Support claims and assess commercial risks
  • Maintain internal commercial procedures
Candidate Requirements
Essential
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in groundworks and civils
  • Strong contractual and commercial understanding
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Full UK driving licence
Desirable
  • CSCS card
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering
  • RICS or equivalent membership
