Job summary

An established construction firm is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to manage a £13 million refurbishment project in the Scottish Highlands. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quantity Surveying and a strong track record in large-scale renovations. This role involves overseeing commercial activities, preparing valuations, ensuring contract compliance, and maintaining effective communication with the project team.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record delivering large-scale refurb projects with a main contractor.
  • Strong understanding of NEC, JCT or SBCC contracts.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload across a remote site.

Responsibilities

Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Refurbishment Project | Highlands

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor on a £13 million refurbishment project based in the Scottish Highlands.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project from pre-construction through to final accounts, working closely with the wider project and client teams to ensure cost control, contract compliance, and successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all commercial activities across the project lifecycle
  • Prepare and manage valuations, variations, and final accounts
  • Ensure contract compliance (NEC, JCT, SBCC)
  • Provide cost advice and reporting to senior stakeholders
  • Manage subcontractor procurement and payments

What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
  • Proven track record delivering large-scale refurb projects with a main contractor
  • Strong understanding of NEC, JCT or SBCC contracts
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload across a remote site
