Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor located in Immingham. Qualifications

Job description

OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client located in Immingham. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday to Friday.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for overseeing the delivery of the project including all subcontract administration / cost and value reporting / assistance in main contract change management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Overseeing Subcontract administration for the delivery of the works including design / site set-up / civils / marine works and building and MEP works
  • Contract management / administration of a number subcontracts (NEC4 Option A/C/E Subcontract) and design contracts (NEC4 PSC Contract Option A/C/E) ensuring compliance with the contract and business management systems.
  • Manage and assess the monthly payment process for the aforementioned subcontract in accordance with the contractual timescales
  • Manage and co-ordinate with the package manager the change management process under the subcontracts including drafting of contractors instructions / reviewing NCEs and quotations for compensation events
  • Manage the projects main designer contract ensuring assistance is provided to the design team on cost information of design
  • Work with the estimating manager and specialist suppliers to review and update the construction stage estimate in accordance with the latest design
  • Produce monthly cost and value reporting including cash flow forecast and presentation to the senior management team
  • Registration, notification and evaluation of early warning procedures events.
  • Assist the Procurement Manager in commercial and financial aspects of contracts.
  • Provide contractual advice to the commercial, construction and engineering departments.
  • Report to the commercial manager on contractual aspects of the project
  • Ensure compliance with the contractual requirements of the projects
  • Costing of value engineering proposals and assisting in the assessment of changes to the accepted programme
  • Preparation of contractual correspondence and responding to communications from the project manager
  • Management of quantity surveying and assistant Quantity surveyors during the construction stage of the project
  • Assisting the commercial manager in educating the project team in the specific requirements of the NEC conditions of contract.
Qualifications, Certifications & Experience
  • The role will require the post holder to have excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal and to be able to report at management level.
  • Experience of working NEC 3 or 4 contract, and administering NEC 3 or Subcontract (Option A / B / C / E)
  • Experience working with for a Main Contractor on large Civil Engineering / infrastructure projects.
  • Good understanding of EU and UK legislative requirements affecting procurement.
  • Analytical mind and logical problem solving.
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Committed to ethos of an accountable, cost effective, high quality, customer driven service delivery.
  • High degree of commercial awareness.
  • Computer skills Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer
  • Holds a CSCS Card
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a numerate or commercial discipline
  • Member or Associate Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) or working towards.
