A well-established, award‑winning high‑end residential contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take a leading commercial role within their growing team. With over 40 years of construction expertise and a reputation for delivering exceptional, detail‑led private homes and heritage restorations, this is a rare opportunity to join a contractor known for craftsmanship, collaboration and uncompromising quality.

This privately owned contractor is recognised for its hands‑on management style and consistent delivery of high‑quality projects across the region. Their work includes:

• New‑build homes in both contemporary and traditional styles

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead the commercial management of multiple high‑value residential projects, ensuring accurate cost control, robust procurement and exceptional client service. You will work closely with the Directors, Project Managers and site teams while mentoring junior commercial staff.

Key responsibilities include:

• Full commercial oversight of bespoke, high‑end residential projects
• Cost planning, value engineering and budget management
• Leading procurement and subcontractor negotiations
• Managing valuations, variations and monthly cost reports
• Contract administration under JCT forms
• Developing strong relationships with clients, architects and consultants
• Guiding and mentoring junior QS team members
• Ensuring projects uphold quality, financial and programme goals

About You

We are seeking a commercially strong, detail‑focused Senior Quantity Surveyor with a solid background in prime or super‑prime residential construction.

You will have:

• 7+ years' experience as a QS, with recent senior‑level responsibility
• Proven track record delivering luxury residential or heritage‑focused projects
• Deep understanding of bespoke construction and complex detailing
• Strong communication, negotiation and leadership skills
• Ability to work autonomously with a proactive, solutions‑led approach
• Experience with JCT contracts
