Overview

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a quantity surveyor to be engaged on a permanent basis in Grangemouth, Scotland.

What you'll be doing
  • Take ownership of project commercial management, ensuring accurate measurement, valuation, and timely cash collection to maintain healthy project cash flow.
  • Support the preparation and review of weekly and monthly CVRs, ensuring cost and value reporting is robust and reliable.
  • Administer contracts effectively, managing Early Warnings, Compensation Events, and variations in line with NEC and other standard forms.
  • Work closely with suppliers and subcontractors, from procurement through to final account, driving performance and ensuring best value.
  • Provide commercial insight and productivity analysis to support tender compliance and accurate forecasting.
  • Lead or support negotiations on unit rates, variations, and KPIs, protecting margins while maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Monitor contract KPIs, recommend improvements, and ensure compliance with agreed targets and standards.
What you\'ll bring
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven success in construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Expertise in Standard Forms of Contract (particularly NEC) and Methods of Measurement.
  • Proficiency in cost reporting, cash flow management, and project controls.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • A professional, analytical, and collaborative approach, with the ability to influence outcomes and add value to every stage of the project.
