£40,000 - £55,000
Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking for more ownership, responsibility and the opportunity to progress your career?
We’re working with a growing construction business specialising in structural steelwork and innovative steel and timber hybrid projects. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to bring an additional Quantity Surveyor into their commercial team.
They’re ideally looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who can take ownership of projects, support colleagues and develop towards future Commercial Manager responsibilities. However, they’re equally open to a strong Quantity Surveyor with the right experience, attitude and potential to step up.
This is a great opportunity to join an established, friendly business where people are trusted to manage their own workload, supported in their development and given genuine opportunities to progress.
Reporting to the Associate Director (Commercial), you’ll take responsibility for the commercial management of your own projects, ensuring costs are controlled, contractual obligations are met and commercial opportunities are maximised.
You’ll typically manage three or four live projects at different stages, working closely with project teams, clients, subcontractors and colleagues across the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
For an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, there will also be the opportunity to support and mentor the existing commercial team, contribute to departmental improvements and develop towards greater management responsibility.
You’ll be commercially aware, organised and confident managing your own workload without the need for constant supervision.
We’re interested in speaking with candidates who have:
Experience within structural steelwork, steel fabrication, timber or other specialist construction environments would be particularly advantageous. Candidates from wider construction or civil engineering backgrounds will also be considered where they can demonstrate the right commercial experience.
For the Senior QS appointment, the ability to support and mentor less experienced colleagues would be a real advantage.
Choose from 07:00-16:00, 08:00-17:00 or 09:00-18:00, with a one-hour lunch break. Friday finishes one hour earlier.
The business operates an office-based working environment, with occasional flexibility available where appropriate.
