The Client

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in leading the commercial management of multiple projects, ensuring financial control from procurement through to final account. You’ll be responsible for managing project budgets, cost forecasting, subcontractor procurement and contract administration, while supporting and mentoring junior members of the team. Responsibilities
  • Take full commercial responsibility for multiple live projects, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.
  • Prepare cost plans, budgets, valuations and final accounts.
  • Lead subcontract procurement, tender analysis and contract negotiation.
  • Manage project cash flow, valuations, variations and change control processes.
  • Provide accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts to senior management.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants and site teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Oversee the preparation of contractual documentation and ensure compliance with company procedures.
  • Mentor and support Assistant and Quantity Surveyors within the team.
  • Contribute to business improvement and pre‑construction activities as required.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge across a variety of construction sectors.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and deliver under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant contract administration software.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related field.
  • Based within commuting distance of London and the South East.
