Overview

Senior Quantity Surveyor – We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our well-structured and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional looking for a rewarding career with a company that values expertise and development.

At SOCOTEC Advisory, we work on a diverse range of projects across both the private and public sectors. We offer exposure to projects in traditional quantity surveying as well as dispute resolution, supporting our Advisory and Expert Witness teams. Responsibilities
  • Lead the commercial activities on projects, delivering the scope of the appointment and managing the assisting team with minimal supervision.
  • Provide high-quality quantity surveying services to clients
  • Establish client requirements for cost planning
  • Manage risk, value engineering and cost control measures
  • Advise on procurement strategies
  • Prepare tender packages and contracts, including bills of quantities
  • Analyze tender appraisals and identify risk areas
  • Ensure projects remain within budget and on track financially
  • Prepare budget and progress reports, including cost value reconciliations
  • Identify and respond to commercial risks and assess cost variations
  • Issue notices in accordance with contract conditions
  • Advise on contractual issues and claims
  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts
  • Attend and lead project meetings
  • Keep up to date with industry requirements and developments
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal training
  • Promote the company and our services in the industry
What you will be able to demonstrate
Essential
  • Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying
  • 6+ years Quantity Surveying experience
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Strong numerical and data analysis skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills
  • Positive approach to client care and problem solving
  • Ability to work alongside Expert Witness and Advisory teams
Desirable
  • Membership of the RICS or working towards membership
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts
  • Experience using CostX software
  • Experience in the rail and aviation sectors
