D R Newitt Recruitment is seeking a Senior Quality Operations Manager for a well-established food manufacturing site in Lancashire. You will oversee the site’s quality operations, lead QA, Laboratory and Supplier Compliance functions, and ensure food safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

You will develop the site’s quality culture, drive continuous improvement, and work with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain to boost performance.

Are you an experienced Quality Manager or Technical Manager looking for your next senior leadership opportunity within food manufacturing?

We are recruiting for a Senior Quality Operations Manager to join a well-established food manufacturing business in Lancashire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced quality professional to take ownership of site quality operations, lead established teams and drive food safety, compliance and continuous improvement across a busy manufacturing environment.

The Role

As Senior Quality Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the site’s quality operations function, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

You will play a key role in developing the site’s quality culture, improving operational performance and supporting wider business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the site’s Quality Assurance, Laboratory and Supplier Compliance functions.
• Ensure compliance with FSSC 22000, GMP, HACCP and relevant food safety legislation.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across quality, food safety and operational processes.
• Oversee internal and external audits, ensuring ongoing compliance with certification standards.
• Manage non-conformances, root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Maintain and continuously improve Quality Management Systems and food safety procedures.
• Work closely with Production, Engineering and Supply Chain teams to improve site performance.
• Oversee supplier quality standards and compliance.
• Support new product launches, factory trials and operational improvement projects.
• Monitor quality KPIs and implement strategies to improve performance.

About You

We are looking for an experienced quality professional with a strong background in food manufacturing and a proven ability to lead teams and drive improvements.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Senior Quality Manager, Quality Operations Manager, Technical Manager or similar senior quality position.
• Strong experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
• Excellent knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP and food safety management systems.
• Proven experience managing and developing quality or technical teams.
• Experience leading audits, managing compliance and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly around root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A proactive approach to improving quality standards and developing a positive food safety culture.
