Job summary

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions, part of Spirax Group, seeks a Senior Quality Engineer - Metrology in Falmouth. You will lead surveillance testing, develop metrology methods, and own MSA for robust measurement processes across complex components.

You will collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing and Quality teams to resolve technical challenges and support audits while driving continuous improvement in product performance.

Qualifications

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field AND/OR Significant experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, or measurement systems engineering
  • Proven ability in CMM programming (e.g. PC-DMIS, Calypso or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 within regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience developing technical procedures, inspection plans, and test protocols
  • Expertise in statistical analysis, MSA, and capability studies

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
In this pivotal role, you will:

Skills/Experience

We’re seeking a candidate who brings both strong technical expertise and a proactive, improvement-focused mindset:

Essential
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering, Metrology, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field AND/OR Significant experience in metrology, dimensional inspection, or measurement systems engineering
  • Proven ability in CMM programming (e.g. PC-DMIS, Calypso or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 within regulated manufacturing environments
  • Experience developing technical procedures, inspection plans, and test protocols
  • Expertise in statistical analysis, MSA, and capability studies
Desirable
  • Experience working with pumps, tubing, or fluid-handling systems

  • A hands‑on approach with testing equipment and measurement systems
  • Excellent technical writing and documentation skills
  • Confidence presenting complex data to stakeholders and auditors
  • A proactive, structured approach with the ability to drive continuous improvement independently
