Job summary

BD is hiring a Staff Quality Engineer to shape the future of infusion technology. You will lead supplier qualification, audits, and quality systems across development and manufacturing, partnering with design teams to ensure quality from early stages to launch.

The role covers supplier development, contract manufacturing oversight, and risk management in a highly regulated environment, with 20% travel and in-office working in Limerick or Winnersh.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical discipline with significant QA experience in medical devices.
• Experience in supplier quality and operations quality within NPD or commercialization.
• Expertise in supplier qualification, audits, contract manufacturing oversight, and quality issue resolution.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 13485, MDR, FDA QSR and risk management in regulated environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier qualification, approval, auditing, performance monitoring, and quality improvement activities.
• Partner with product development teams early to define supplier requirements and assess quality risks.
• Evaluate and oversee contract manufacturing partners, including quality agreements.
• Support manufacturing strategy, design transfer, and process development.
• Identify and mitigate supplier, manufacturing, and operational risks affecting quality and patient safety.
• Develop and maintain quality plans, inspection strategies, and monitoring programs for regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical leadership across supplier and operations quality with cross-functional teams.
• Drive continuous improvement to strengthen supplier performance and product reliability.
