Job description

DP World are currently recruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our dynamic team in Minworth.

This is a hands‑on role that will drive product and process quality through data‑led decision making and cross‑functional collaboration. Working closely with manufacturing, engineering, suppliers, and customers, the Quality Engineer will lead initiatives to resolve quality issues, improve first‑time‑through (FTT) rates, reduce scrap, and support continuous improvement activities across the business.

How you will contribute
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives across the operation, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions using structured problem‑solving methodologies (8D, 5 Why, PDCA, Shainin / Red X).
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive process improvements aligned with customer and business expectations.
  • Perform internal and layered audits, ensuring compliance with quality management systems and standards.
  • Engage with suppliers and customers to resolve product and process quality concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Provide in‑depth statistical analysis of production and quality data, supporting scrap reduction and FTT improvement initiatives.
  • Drive improvements in the quality management system (QMS), including document control, reverse FMEAs, and warranty resolution processes.
  • Participate in special projects aligned with operational goals and support the Quality Manager in delivering on KPIs.
  • Write, review, and maintain processes and work instructions to meet internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Support the management of the Integrated Management System (IMS), including ISO 9001:2015, and ideally ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
What you will bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline (preferred but not essential).
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding of QA / QC methodologies and continuous improvement principles.
  • Auditing experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Skilled in analysing complex data sets to draw actionable insights.
  • Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the business.
  • Internal / Lead Auditor qualification required.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt and / or Lean certification is preferred.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting ISO 9001:2015 systems, with exposure to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
