Job summary

Accrofab Ltd is recruiting a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality Department in the United Kingdom. The role focuses on maintaining aerospace quality standards and driving continuous improvement across processes.

You will support delivery against quality, cost, delivery and OPEX targets, maintain the QA system, and act as the main point of contact for customers. Experience with AS9100/NADCAP and reading engineering drawings is essential.

Qualifications

  • Experience working to Aerospace quality standards (AS9100/NADCAP).
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

  • Support delivery of quality, cost, delivery and OPEX targets.
  • Maintain and develop Walk the Floor routine to improve performance and feed DOMs.
  • Maintain and audit the Quality Assurance System per customer requirements, AS9100 (Aerospace), NADCAP.
  • Point of contact for customer queries / issues and liaise with customers for timely resolution of quality concerns.
  • Review, understand and implement new/updated customer requirements.
  • Support the delivery of NPI.
  • Maintain KPIs to identify problems and drive solutions.
  • Maintain internal audit program to improve Quality System performance (AS9100, NADCAP).
  • Be prepared for audits and maintain QA processes.
  • Maintain control plans, PFMEA, PPAP.
  • Understand FAIR process IAW AS9102.
  • Participate/lead customer audits.
  • Support training and development of team members.
  • Analyze Walk the Floor output to report findings and drive resolution.
  • Reduce non-conformance costs through continuous improvement/lean initiatives.
  • Monitor resolution of identified problems and embed new standards in Walk the Floor routines.
  • Identify and contain/solve/elevate problems within a set timescale.
  • Improve investigation and follow-up of QA issues to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide support to manufacturing and planning to achieve 100% quality target.

Job description

We have a vacancy within our Quality Department and are currently recruiting for the role of Senior Quality Engineer We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing Organisation.

Shift Pattern: 39 hours each week with a flexible starting time between 07:00 and 08:00 Monday to Friday, with a flexible finish time between 16:00 and 17:00 Monday to Thursday, and on a Friday, a finish time of 12.00. You will be entitled to a 30-minute unpaid lunch break between 12:00 and 12:30 Monday to Thursday. Additionally, you will have a 10-minute paid break each morning Monday to Friday and a 10-minute paid break each afternoon Monday to Thursday.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Support delivery of our quality, cost, delivery and OPEX targets.
  • Maintain and develop a comprehensive and documented Quality Walk the Floor routine to control and improve the performance of the business in line with required targets and standards, the output of which is to feed the DOMs.
  • Maintain and audit the Quality Assurance System in line with customer specific requirements, AS9100 (Aerospace), & NADCAP.
  • Point of contact for customer related queries / issues
  • Liaison with customers for timely resolution of any quality concerns / issues
  • Ability to review, understand & implement new / updated customer requirements.
  • Support the delivery of NPI
  • Maintaining and reporting against key performance indicators to identify problems and develop solutions.
  • Maintain & improve a comprehensive internal audit program to control and continually improve the performance of Quality System in line with required targets and standards. (AS9100, NADCAP, customer specific)
  • Be prepared for audits at all times, through the maintenance of Quality Assurance processes.
  • Maintenance of control plans, Process flow charts PFMEA, PPAP.
  • Understanding of the FAIR process IAW AS9102.
  • Participate / lead customer / NADCAP audits.
  • Supporting training and development of team members.
  • Analyse the output of the Walk the Floor routine to report on findings against the Quality System and to identify problems for resolution by the operational teams and / or relevant functional teams.
  • Reduce the cost of non-conformance by engaging with the teams & carrying out continuous improvement / lean initiatives.
  • Monitoring the resolution of identified problems (Internal & external) and ensuring that the new standards determined by this solution are maintained, and where necessary, built into the Walk the Floor routines.
  • Identifying actual or potential problems (variations to the required target or standard) and taking the necessary actions to contain, solve or elevate these problems within an appropriate timescale by engaging others.
  • Improve investigation, problem-solving and follow-up of Quality Assurance issues to prevent both potential & recurring problems.
  • Provide support to all manufacturing and planning areas to achieve our 100% quality target and Zero-Defect culture

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience of working to Aerospace standards.
  • E xperienced in reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • An understanding and alignment to our Accrofab values; Respect, Integrity, Safety and Excellence.
  • Preferably 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
