Job Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Specialist

Location: North West Region

Contract Length: 3-6 months (likely extension)

Day Rate: £400-450 per day

Days in Office Required: Hybrid – 3 days on-site

Panoramic Associates is currently working with a Local Authority client based in the North West Region to facilitate the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Specialist on an interim basis for 3‑6 months.

This role involves providing commercial oversight for highway and infrastructure projects, ensuring contracts are managed efficiently and risks are mitigated. The assignment has arisen due to increased project demand and the need for experienced commercial support to manage ongoing NEC contracts. This is a high‑profile opportunity to contribute to major infrastructure delivery and make a tangible impact on the local network.

Responsibilities of the Role
  • Manage and administer highway contracts, particularly NEC contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Provide commercial advice, manage claims, and mitigate contractual risks.
  • Analyse project data, monitor budgets, and track costs to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Collaborate with contractors, council stakeholders, and project teams to support smooth delivery.
To be successful in the role you will have
  • Extensive experience (ideally 10+ years) in highway or infrastructure contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management, NEC contracts, and commercial risk mitigation.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
