Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Civils Project

I'm currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading civil engineering contractor delivering a major infrastructure project in the Bridgwater area. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a senior commercial role within a long-term, high-value programme that offers stability, progression and real impact.

The Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial lead responsibility for a significant package of works. Your duties will include:

  • Full commercial management from procurement through to final accounts
  • Cost forecasting, reporting and budget management
  • Managing subcontractor packages, valuations and payments
  • Identifying and managing commercial and contractual risks
  • Working closely with operational and project teams to ensure smooth delivery
  • Supporting and mentoring junior commercial staff
What You’ll Need
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor / Senior QS on civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or large construction projects
  • Strong commercial and contractual understanding (NEC experience advantageous)
  • Ability to manage multiple packages and deadlines confidently
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Chartered or working toward chartership (RICS / ICES / CIOB) desirable
