About the Role We are seeking a QA Automation Engineer to support the testing and quality assurance activities for a Secure government project. The solution is primarily built using Node.js, with Testim as the main test automation tool and Azure DevOps for task and test management. The successful candidate will work within an agile, iterative delivery environment, collaborating closely with client and other suppliers to ensure the delivery of a high‑quality, reliable digital service.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure the quality and functionality of the GIFT digital service.
• Perform manual and automated testing to identify defects and verify software against business and functional requirements.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to review requirements and provide feedback on testability, quality risks, and acceptance criteria.
• Utilise Testim and other automation frameworks to automate repetitive tests and improve overall efficiency.
• Document and track defects, providing detailed defect reports and supporting the development team in their resolution.
• Upload, execute, and maintain test cases in Azure DevOps, including recording test evidence and updating results.
• Log and manage defects within Azure DevOps, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure timely resolution and retesting.
• Prepare and deliver Test Completion Reports and maintain traceability of all testing activities.
• Ensure test data is available, accurate, and fit for purpose.
• Drive continuous improvement of testing processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Strive for maximum automation coverage, ensuring all critical paths and core functionalities are validated through automated scripts.

Required Skills and Experience

• Hands‑on experience with Testim platform.
• Proven experience in QA automation and manual testing, ideally within large‑scale digital or government service projects.
• Strong working knowledge of Node.js‑based applications and API testing.
• Proficiency with Azure DevOps for test case management, defect tracking, and reporting.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integration of automated tests within them.
• Experience working in Agile/iterative delivery environments and within blended teams (internal staff and external suppliers).
• Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript for writing or maintaining automated scripts.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with performance, regression, and security testing.
