Job description

Swap is the infrastructure behind modern agentic commerce. The only AI-native platform connecting backend operations with a forward-thinking storefront experience.

Built for brands that want to sell anything - anywhere, Swap centralises global operations, powers intelligent workflows, and unlocks margin-protecting decisions with real-time data and capability. Our products span cross-border, tax, returns, demand planning, and our next-generation agentic storefront, giving merchants full transparency and the ability to act with confidence.

At Swap, we’re building a culture that values clarity, creativity, and shared ownership as we redefine how global commerce works.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer / SDET to work with product, engineering, and our Agentic AI team building an agentic storefront and new e-commerce workflows. You will lead quality across a complex system, define the QA strategy and operating model from scratch, and build the tooling, processes, and automation needed to ship reliably.

Responsibilities
  • Own QA strategy and execution for agentic AI and core ecommerce flows (definition of done, quality gates, release readiness).
  • Define and roll out QA processes from scratch: test planning, risk assessment, defect triage, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead cross-team alignment on quality standards and drive adoption through coaching and clear workflows.
  • Design test architecture across unit/integration/contract/E2E, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and signal quality.
  • Build and maintain automation and CI/CD integration; reduce flakiness and improve time-to-signal.
  • Define AI-specific validation for agent workflows: tool-calling paths, multi-step journeys, failure handling, regressions, and guardrails.
  • Partner on system design to identify bottlenecks and failure modes; propose changes that improve testability, observability, and resilience.
Requirements
  • 5+ years in QA / quality engineering for modern web products (APIs + UI).
  • Strong coding skills and hands-on automation experience (language flexible; Python/TypeScript common).
  • Proven track record of building QA processes and test strategy from scratch in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong leadership and ownership: can organize work across teams, set direction, and drive execution without formal authority.
  • Solid CI/CD experience: test automation in pipelines, quality gates, environment strategy, and test data management.
  • Strong engineering mindset and system design skills; able to reason about distributed systems and propose pragmatic improvements.
  • Stock options in a high-growth startup.
  • Competitive PTO with public holidays additional.
  • Private Health.
  • Pension.
  • Wellness benefits.
  • Breakfast Mondays.
