Job summary

Aldi is seeking a Director – Buying services- Quality Assurance with deep domain expertise in product safety, legality and quality standards. You will lead high-performing QA teams, manage risk and influence stakeholders across the business to protect Aldi’s reputation and deliver consistently high standards for customers.

The role requires strategic thinking with practical execution, simplifying processes and driving momentum in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Senior technical leader with 10+ years in FMCG/food manufacturing or food service.
• Strong knowledge of safety, legality, and quality standards and retailer requirements.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate QA teams.
• Ability to identify, assess and mitigate product, supplier, regulatory and reputational risks.
• Experience in supplier assurance, product specs, audits and approvals.
• International understanding of current and emerging regulations affecting food and FMCG.
• Confident influencing senior leaders, Buying teams and external partners.
• Ability to set clear direction while ensuring day‑to‑day standards and controls.
• Strong communication skills to translate complex topics to diverse audiences.
• Balance quality, safety, customer expectations, cost and practicality for business outcomes.

Responsibilities
