Job summary

Expleo in Belfast is seeking a Senior QA Analyst to join our hybrid team. You will plan, design and execute manual and automated tests across projects, collaborating with cross‑functional groups and stakeholders.

This role requires hands‑on testing, API and data validation using SQL, Postman, Selenium/Playwright, and Agile/Scrum experience. SC clearance is required for government client work, with 2–3 days per week in the Belfast office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS or equivalent work experience.
• ISTQB Foundation or equivalent QA certification.
• Desirable QA certification or course.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute manual and automated test cases across multiple projects.
• Coordinate testing with senior business stakeholders including UAT.
• API testing with Postman; validate request/response structures and data integrity.
• Write and run SQL queries for backend validation and data verification.
• Collaborate with Developers, BAs, and Product Owners in an Agile environment.
• Log and manage defects using Jira/Azure DevOps; track prioritisation.
• Be cross-functional liaison with 3rd-party, vendor, and client reps as needed.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and risk/estimation activities.
• Drive QA process improvements and test automation initiatives.
• Leverage coding language knowledge (Java/TS/C#) to maintain tests (Selenium/Playwright).

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Analyst to join the team. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands‑on testing expertise, a broad technical breadth, a solid understanding of Agile delivery, and the ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and execute manual and automated test cases across multiple projects and platforms.
• Liaise with senior business representatives to plan, coordinate, and facilitate testing, including User Acceptance Testing
• Perform API testing using Postman, including validation of request/response structures and data integrity.
• Write and execute SQL queries to validate backend proceses and perform data verification.
• Collaborate closely with Developers, BAs, and Product Owners in an Agile environment, to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Log, track, prioritise, and manage defects using industry‑standard ALM tools (e.g., Jira; Azure DevOps)
• Act as the cross‑functional Team's primary liaison for quality, interfacing with 3rd‑party, vendor and client/business representatives as required.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Undertake and contribute to test planning, risk assessments, and estimation activities.
• Drive continuous improvement of QA processes and testing practices.
• Leverage test automation experience and knowledge of coding languages (e.g., Java/Typescript/C#) to create and maintain automated tests using common libraries (e.g., Selenium/Playwright)

Qualifications

• Essential - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
• ISTQB Foundation
• Desirable - Additional course or certification in Quality Assurance

Essential skills

• Proficiency in the use of SQL for data validation.
• Ability to create automated tests using at least framework/library with associated programming language (e.g., Selenium with Java; Playwright with Typescript)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Experience

• Testing experience.
• Experience in non‑functional testing techniques.
• Experience of leveraging AI/ML tools to augment testing.
• Extensive experience in software testing or QA roles.
• Strong experience of working within Agile/Scrum teams.
• Hands‑on experience with API testing, ideally using Postman.
• Experience using Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools, such as Jira or Azure DevOps (preferably both)

What do I need before I apply

• The successful candidate will be based in Northern Ireland and able to attend our Belfast office 2-3 days per week as part of our hybrid working model. The successful candidate must be eligible for SC clearance to enable work with Government clients.
