Job summary

Validus Risk Management is seeking a Python Software Engineer to join the Client Success Team in London. You will own small-to-medium enhancements from idea to production, translating financial requirements into robust, scalable solutions.

As a Senior Developer, you will lead CST initiatives, mentor others, and ensure delivery with high accountability and technical quality. You’ll collaborate with business leads, tech teams, and clients to drive value across the Horizon platform.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong academic background in a quantitative discipline (Maths, Physics, Financial Engineering, CS).
• Strong experience in Python or a similar backend language used for data processing and financial applications.
• Full stack development experience (backend services, APIs, databases, and modern frontend frameworks).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of high-impact features for Validus Horizon from design to deployment.
• Own multiple CST initiatives with clear stakeholder communication.
• Design and implement full stack solutions (backend, APIs, data pipelines, frontend components).
• Build and maintain robust ETL processes (data ingestion, validation, transformation, reporting, SFTP/API integrations).
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to refine requirements and quantify business value.
• Contribute to technical scoping and estimation as part of CST prioritisation.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability across Horizon components.
• Mentor CST contributors and uphold code quality, tests, and documentation.
• Support stakeholder and client meetings by presenting technical roadmaps.
