Job summary

Proofpoint is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the XFI team within the Cloud Integration Group in Belfast. You will help scale the Cross Functional Integrations services that connect to Microsoft and Google email platforms, delivering secure, high-performance integrations for both inbound and outbound traffic.

You will design reliable distributed systems, improve scalability and reliability, and ship code daily using CI/CD pipelines while focusing on security and data protection.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable distributed systems with low latency.
• Ability to ship code to production daily using CI/CD.
• Security-focused development practices for handling sensitive data.
• Experience integrating with external email platform providers (Google, Microsoft).

Responsibilities

• Provide solutions to complex problems in the XFI team.
• Design and build reliable distributed systems handling high data volumes with low latency.
• Maintain and support business-critical systems emphasizing scale and latency.
• Ship code to production daily using CI/CD.
• Explore security vulnerabilities and implement measures.
• Improve user experience across Outlook clients on Windows/Mac.
