Job summary

Intec Select Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Python Engineer / Back End Developer for a 3–6 month contract. The role focuses on building scalable Python services and microservices, with exposure to AI/ML tooling and cloud technologies.

The position offers a hybrid setup with 2 days on-site in London and an ASAP start, paying £450 PD outside IR35. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to design, implement, and maintain data pipelines and voice chat features, using modern

Requirements:

• Strong commercial Python development experience, including object-oriented and functional programming.
• Strong experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, Alembic, Pytest, and type checking.
• Experience with Pandas, NumPy, Jupyter, OpenTelemetry, Git/GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Docker.
• Experience developing microservices and/or Lambda-based solutions.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL.
• Experience working with AI/ML technologies, particularly ASR, TTS, LLMs, or related tooling, is highly desirable.
• AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Hugging Face, PyTorch/TensorFlow, or Generative AI tooling would be advantageous.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable taking ownership and working in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable Python services, microservices, voice chat, and data pipelines.
• Work with the Tech Lead and wider team on architecture, technical decisions, and solution design.
• Collaborate with product, data science, QA, design, and subject matter experts to deliver new features.
• Ensure applications meet high standards for performance, scalability, reliability, and quality.
• Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, requirements, and user stories.
• Take ownership of technical issues and support an end-to-end DevOps approach.
• Mentor less experienced developers and share technical knowledge.
• Stay current with developments in AI, cloud engineering, and language assessment.

We are a trusted technology partner developing innovative products and looking for an experienced Senior Python Engineer / Back End Developer to join a fast-moving team. This is a 3-to-6-month contract with a rate of £450 PD outside IR35, offering 2 days onsite in London in a hybrid setup with an ASAP start.
