Job summary

Falconsmartit in London is seeking a Sr Python Developer to build backend systems for trading and risk management. You will develop Python applications, implement data processing pipelines, and help design scalable architectures.

The role involves collaborating with quants, traders and risk teams to translate requirements into robust solutions. You will create RESTful services, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, and safeguard high code quality with comprehensive tests.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of core Python development experience.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to handle large datasets.
• Experience with Python data libraries (Pandas, NumPy).
• Experience building RESTful APIs with Flask / FastAPI / Django.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Investment banking / capital markets domain experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop Python-based backend applications for trading and risk use cases.
• Build data processing pipelines and automation scripts for workflows.
• Contribute to system design, architecture and scalability decisions.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and backend services.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
• Support production systems (L2/L3) including debugging and performance tuning.
• Write unit/integration tests and mentor junior developers.
