Job summary

Gravitas Recruitment Group (Global) Ltd seeks a Senior Python Developer to lead backend engineering for high-performance services. You will modernise the ecosystem by decommissioning Rails components and migrating data models into modern services, with a focus on Python and cross-language work in Rust, Java, or Ruby.

The role is 100% remote for a 12-month contract, offering a daily rate of £650 outside IR35.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial Python development experience.
• Experience designing and building scalable backend services.
• Strong experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and GraphQL.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance backend services that reduce costs through automation.
• Develop scalable Python-based services and APIs to support workflows.
• Migrate legacy Rails components to modern microservice architectures.
• Produce architecture and API documentation and maintain observability.
