Job summary

Akkodis is seeking an experienced Senior Python Developer to join a fast-paced development team in London. The role focuses on back-end Python engineering with exposure to AI development or AI-enabled applications. Banking/regulatory experience is highly desirable.

London-based with three days per week onsite. You will design, develop and maintain robust back-end services, integrate AI capabilities, and work with AI teams to identify practical AI use cases while ensuring security and compliant

Qualifications

• 5+ years commercial Python development experience.
• Strong core Python programming and software engineering.
• Experience designing and developing back-end applications, services and APIs.
• Exposure to AI development or AI-enabled PoCs.
• Understanding of how AI/ML capabilities can be integrated into software.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Strong SQL skills with PostgreSQL/MySQL experience.
• Experience with Git or similar version control systems.
• Strong testing and maintainable code practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust Python back-end applications and services.
• Contribute to AI-enabled PoCs within a regulated environment.
• Integrate AI capabilities and AI APIs into apps and services.
• Work with AI teams to identify practical AI use cases.
• Prototype and evaluate new AI-enabled functionality before production.
• Design APIs, microservices and data integrations to support features.
• Integrate third‑party APIs and internal data sources.
• Ensure performance, scalability, security and maintainability.
• Follow development controls and document technical work.
• Engage in code reviews, testing and continuous improvement.
