NELFT NHS Foundation Trust in London seeks a senior clinician to join the Adult ADHD Service, providing specialist advice, diagnostic assessment, and early interventions for adults with ADHD.

The post holder will deliver evidence-based psychological interventions, supervise colleagues, and liaise with professionals across Barking & Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge and Waltham Forest, contributing to training and service development.

Qualifications

Job description

The post holder will achieve this by: Acting as a senior clinician within NELFT Adult ADHD Service which will provide specialist advice & guidance, screening for symptoms of ADHD. Also providing early interventions, diagnostic assessment, and ongoing support with mental health through psychological interventions. Providing specialist post intervention services to individuals referred to the Adult ADHD Service. Providing comprehensive mental health needs and risk assessments of clients within the Adult ADHD Service. Providing consultation and liaison to other professionals working with individuals within the Adult ADHD Service in the Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Redbridge, and Waltham Forest. Contributing to delivery of specialist ADHD training across different tiers of service and within the wider professional network.

Key Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for organising and prioritising own and others workload in the day-to-day allocation of work. To deputise when required in the team managers absence. To have organisational knowledge relating to Trust protocols and procedures and adhere to them.
  • To be responsible for providing accurate records of information required by the Trust for audit purposes. To ensure effective risk management at team level by accident/incident reporting, assessing risk and ensuring they are added to the Trust register when appropriate.
Clinical Skills
  • To be responsible for undertaking comprehensive diagnostic assessment of referred individuals. To provide signposting to referred clients and their families. To support the delivery of brief intervention, low and high intensity cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for those people diagnosed with ADHD either as individuals or as a group using evidence-based approaches.
  • To provide direct supervision to less experienced colleagues. To provide consultation to other clinical teams within NELFT regarding clients with possible ADHD. To conduct ongoing assessments for ADHD comorbid with depression/anxiety and or other conditions. Assessments to include risk / need in relation to the individual and their families.
