Job summary

Hackajob Ltd. is partnering with JPMorganChase to recruit a Lead Software Engineer specializing in Proxy/SSE Network Security. The role delivers Zero Trust access, secure gateway and proxy platforms, and edge connectivity patterns across enterprise environments.

You will lead cross-team initiatives, own the US perimeter roadmap, and drive governance, risk management, and security engineering programs to ensure a stable, resilient, and secure operating environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in network security / SASE / SSE / identity security / security engineering, or equivalent depth.
• Strong understanding of Zero Trust principles, policy-based access, segmentation, and secure egress.
• Hands-on experience with proxy/gateway architectures, including forward proxy, reverse proxy, and IAP patterns.
• Deep knowledge of SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, and JWT concepts, including signing, verification, JWKs, rotation, scopes/claims, and replay protection.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to validate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and resiliency and security expectations.
• Demonstrated experience delivering regional execution ownership in the US or North America for infrastructure and/or security platforms.
• Experience supervising engineers and delivering cross-team remediation, modernization, and platform programs with clear scope, dependency management, delivery milestones, and measurable outcomes.
• Strong knowledge of network and perimeter security architecture and controls, including segmentation, routing, policy considerations, encryption, access control patterns, and defense-in-depth principles.
• Experience designing, delivering, or operating proxy and/or SSE capabilities at enterprise scale.
• Strong experience translating security requirements into deployable edge and perimeter-adjacent connectivity patterns, including Cisco and Arista environments.
• Working knowledge of interconnect and colocation connectivity models, including Equinix Fabric, and cloud adjacency patterns including AWS Direct Connect and AWS PrivateLink.
• Preferred: experience integrating US delivery requirements into global standards, reference architectures, and governance models
• Preferred: experience leading AI-threat-informed remediation programs
• Preferred: experience building enterprise-scale governance programs for security engineering
• Preferred: experience with large-scale operations for externally facing or security enforcement services
• Preferred: experience designing and operating hybrid edge architectures and cloud interconnect patterns across multiple cloud providers
• Preferred: security certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, or comparable credentials

Responsibilities

• Execute creative network security software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and review and debug code written by others.
• Architect and implement Zero Trust Network Access patterns for user-to-app and user-to-internet access.
• Build and operate an Identity-Aware Proxy / policy enforcement point for web and application access.
• Implement or integrate Secure Gateway / Secure Web Gateway capabilities, including URL filtering, TLS inspection, malware protection, sandboxing, egress controls, and DNS security.
• Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices and establish consistent validation standards.
• Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain capabilities, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation, to improve automation value.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Own the US perimeter, proxy, and SSE/SASE engineering roadmap and execution, including intake, prioritization, dependency management, delivery governance, and stakeholder alignment.
• Define and operationalize standards, reference architectures, and reusable engineering patterns for perimeter and egress controls.
• Provide engineering leadership across edge and connectivity adjacencies, including Cisco and Arista environments, colocation and interconnect ecosystems, and cloud adjacency patterns.
• Establish and run governance mechanisms covering backlog governance, exception handling, risk acceptance and closure workflows, traceability, auditability, and reporting.
• Drive operational excellence for perimeter, proxy, and SSE services in the US, including incident, change, and problem management rigor, observability, resiliency validation, automation, and Technology Lifecycle Management outcomes
