Descrição da oferta de emprego

Specialized in civil engineering and engineering structures, Bouygues Travaux Publics is one of the world leaders in the fields of land use planning and sustainable infrastructure construction. Bouygues Travaux Publics is committed to diversity and is open to all talents.

Sizewell C is one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure and energy projects. The programme will deliver a new nuclear power station in Suffolk, providing reliable low‑carbon electricity and supporting the UK's long‑term energy security.

We are looking for experienced Senior Project Managers to join the team delivering major building packages within the Main Civil Works programme at Sizewell C.

We are recruiting across a range of significant building scopes, from office and operational buildings through to technically complex reinforced‑concrete infrastructure housing critical electrical systems. Each package presents a different delivery challenge and requires an experienced Senior Project Manager to take ownership from pre‑construction and design development through procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover.

Working within a highly collaborative project environment, you will lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate engineering, construction, commercial and supply chain activities, while maintaining responsibility for safety, quality, programme, cost, risk and overall project performance.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to take end‑to‑end responsibility for the delivery of a major building package within the Sizewell C Main Civil Works programme.

Depending on your background and experience, you may be aligned to one of several major building packages, including office and operational facilities, technically complex electrical infrastructure buildings, or other significant civil and structural buildings.

This is a senior delivery leadership role, requiring strong project management capability across design development, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover. You will provide leadership across engineering, construction, commercial and supply chain teams, ensuring that the package is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with the programme's technical, commercial, quality and delivery requirements.

Working closely with the Client, consultants, Alliance partners, contractors and wider project organisation, you will lead the development and execution of the delivery strategy and manage complex interfaces with adjacent works, including galleries, backfill, temporary works, earthworks, utilities and neighbouring buildings.

The Building Packages

Opportunities are currently available across a number of distinct building packages:

Office Building

Lead the delivery of a major office and operational building, coordinating structural, architectural, building services, fit‑out and associated interfaces through design development, construction and final handover.

Technical & Electrical Infrastructure Building

Lead the delivery of a technically complex reinforced‑concrete building designed to accommodate transformer cabling and associated critical electrical infrastructure. This package requires strong coordination between major civil and structural works and the technical systems ultimately housed within the building.

Major Building

Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of a further major building, managing complex civil, steel, structural and multidisciplinary interfaces throughout design, procurement and construction.

Successful candidates will be aligned to the package that most closely matches their technical background and project delivery experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take end‑to‑end responsibility for the delivery of a major building package within the Sizewell C Main Civil Works programme;
  • Develop and implement the delivery strategy, Project Execution Plan and construction methodology;
  • Lead design development in collaboration with the Client, consultants, engineering teams and Alliance partners;
  • Manage engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and final handover activities;
  • Take ownership of programme, budget, risk, change, quality and overall project performance;
  • Work closely with project controls teams to monitor progress and performance, including the effective use of Earned Value Management;
  • Lead tendering activities, subcontractor selection, contract negotiations and subsequent contract management;
  • Manage complex interfaces with adjacent works, including galleries, backfill, temporary works, earthworks, utilities and neighbouring buildings;
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, consultants and supply chain partners;
  • Ensure delivery is undertaken in accordance with UK Building Regulations, CDM requirements, HSE standards, project quality requirements and applicable nuclear project standards;
  • Identify emerging risks, constraints and opportunities and implement appropriate mitigation, recovery and improvement plans;
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting on progress, programme, commercial performance, risks and opportunities to senior project leadership;
  • Promote continuous improvement and support the effective application of relevant EPR lessons learned throughout project delivery; and
  • Undertake other reasonable duties appropriate to the role.
Essential Skills & Experience

We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Significant Project Management experience within major building construction, complex civil engineering or large‑scale infrastructure projects;
  • Proven responsibility for the delivery of substantial building, civil or structural packages through multiple stages of the project lifecycle;
  • Experience taking projects from design and pre‑construction through to construction and delivery;
  • Strong understanding of construction methodology and the management of complex site activities and interfaces;
  • Demonstrable experience managing programme, cost, risk, change and overall project performance;
  • Strong commercial awareness, including experience managing contractors, subcontractors and major supply chains;
  • Experience of procurement, tendering and contract administration;
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams;
  • Strong understanding of health and safety, quality assurance and environmental management within major construction environments;
  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership, communication and decision‑making skills; and
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Desirable Experience

  • Commercially aware – able to balance programme, cost, risk, quality and contractual requirements when making decisions;
  • Structured and organised – capable of maintaining clear control across complex programmes, interfaces, deliverables and project priorities;
  • A strong leader – able to provide clear direction and motivate multidisciplinary engineering, construction and commercial teams;
  • Collaborative – comfortable working across the Client, Alliance, contractor, consultant and supply chain organisations;
  • Proactive – able to identify emerging risks, constraints and opportunities and take timely action;
  • Confident and credible – comfortable presenting progress, risks, decisions and recommendations to senior stakeholders;
  • Safety and quality focused – committed to maintaining high standards throughout design, construction and commissioning; and
  • Adaptable – able to operate effectively within a large, complex and highly regulated infrastructure programme.
