Senior Project Manager – £50-60k – Hybrid working – Bristol / South Wales

Role Summary

Our client, a leading UK building consultancy, is seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager with a background in water and rail projects to join their South Wales team. This hire is essential to lead the delivery of complex infrastructure projects for major UK water utilities, transport and environmental agencies – driving delivery excellence, commercial success, and strong governance throughout each stage of the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary client lead for major water and rail programmes
  • Lead the delivery of complex infrastructure projects and programmes from inception to completion.
  • Take full responsibility for planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management.
  • Oversee contract administration and commercial management, including NEC3/4 compliance.
  • Manage and mentor project teams to ensure high performance and collaboration.
  • Develop and maintain robust project management plans, dashboards, and reporting systems.
  • Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across utilities, contractors, and delivery partners.
  • Ensure compliance with governance, health & safety, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or related field.
  • Project management qualification such as APM PMQ, PRINCE2 Practitioner, or equivalent.
  • Chartered Status (e.g. ChPP, CEng, MRICS) is preferred.
  • 5-10+ years of experience in project management.
  • Background in water and rail projects.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience of project delivery and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in design management and integrated delivery models.
