Overview

Are you a Senior Project Manager with Network Rail or HS2 project experience?

Do you have experience in rail systems or electrification projects?

Salary: £60,000 to £80,000
Location: Manchester, Leeds, or Liverpool, 3 days in office per week

This is a key, senior-level role working for a global consultancy within a newly forming team dedicated to the TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU), a major strategic program.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading packages of work within TRU, with a particular focus on rail systems and/or electrification. You will provide strong technical and commercial leadership, manage interfaces across disciplines, and ensure delivery in line with programme, cost, and safety requirements.

This role would suit someone comfortable operating at senior level on complex rail programmes, with the confidence to engage directly with clients and stakeholders.

Essential requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager within the rail sector
  • Demonstrable delivery experience on Network Rail and/or HS2 projects
  • Strong understanding of rail project lifecycles across design and delivery
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to operate confidently in a client-facing, senior role

Desirable experience

  • Specific experience in rail systems and/or electrification projects
  • Background in design management within a rail or infrastructure environment
  • Experience working on major UK rail programmes such as TRU or HS2
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts/NEC accreditation
