Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking Project Managers at multiple levels in the Yorkshire region, based in Leeds or Sheffield. You will deliver client-facing project management services, lead project delivery through full lifecycle, and build positive stakeholder relationships while maintaining AtkinsRéalis values.

Flexible and remote working are central to the culture; the role involves collaboration across teams, mentoring junior staff and supporting bid and business development activities.

Qualifications

  • Degree in construction related discipline (or equivalent) with postgraduate experience.
  • Chartered member or working towards MRICS/CIOB/MAPM or equivalent.
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver PM services in a client-facing role, co-locating at client offices as needed.
  • Lead management and execution of construction projects across the full lifecycle.
  • Establish strong client relationships and align with AtkinsRéalis values.
  • Act as client interface and ensure service delivery excellence.
  • Oversee commercial success including project accounts, governance and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with AtkinsRéalis policies and standards.
  • Provide guidance and technical leadership to the team; mentor junior staff.
  • Support business development and bid submissions as appropriate.

Your role
  • Effective delivery of project management services in a client facing role. Co-locating at a client office for a day or two a week is often required to develop relationships and deliver a high-quality service.
  • Lead the management and execution of construction projects through the whole project life cycle, utilising best practice methodology.
  • Establish and build positive and collaborative relationships with all project stakeholders in accordance with AtkinsRéalis values.
  • Act as Client interface in providing service delivery, demonstrating your role as a key stakeholder and first point of contact.
  • Responsibility for the commercial success of projects placed under your control, including the effective and efficient management of project accounts, governance, and resource requirements.
  • Ensuring service delivery compliance with AtkinsRéalis policies, toolkits, and standards.
  • Provide guidance, leadership, and technical expertise to team members.
  • Work with colleagues to mentor, coordinate and support the development activities of junior team members.
  • Supporting the development of new business opportunities in line with business strategy and looking for market opportunities for new or repeat business.
  • Support the preparation of fee proposals and bid submissions.
  • Support senior colleagues on large scale projects.
About you
  • Degree qualification (or equivalent) preferably in a construction related discipline with post graduate experience.
  • A chartered member (or working towards) of a recognised professional institute (MRICS, CIOB, MAPM or equivalent).
  • A positive, collaborative, and innovative approach able to work on your own initiative.
  • Experience of building positive Client relationships and business networks.
  • Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams & delivering successful projects through a recognised project management methodology.
  • Specific knowledge and experience of delivery projects for Local and Central Government is desirable, particularly in the education and residential sectors.
  • Sound technical project management knowledge demonstrating established experience and aptitude.
  • Experience of administering standard UK building contracts (NEC and JCT forms) and ability to advise on appropriate procurement routes.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety and Environmental legislation relevant to the UK construction industry.
  • Committed to ongoing personal development.
  • A valid driving licence.
