Job summary

QinetiQ Limited is seeking a Senior Project Manager for Estates in the Portsmouth area, leading MSCA-related facilities work at Haslar/PTP sites within the PDLS IDT. You will deliver complex estates projects, balance cost, quality and risk, and ensure safe and secure delivery across multiple stakeholders.

The role is based on-site with a 37-hour week and travel to other QinetiQ sites expected. Applicants should have qualifications in project management and relevant industry standards, with

• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders across internal and external teams (MSCA).
• Experience delivering estates projects or refurbishment with cost and schedule controls.
• Knowledge of Building Regulations, JSP standards, environmental and ecological regulation.
• CDM Regulations compliance and client-side experience on construction projects.
• Solid understanding of civil engineering, infrastructure and building works methods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-value or complex estates projects within budget and schedule.

• Prepare and manage project documentation including bids and third-party docs.
• Apply risk management strategies to ensure quality, safety and security on site.

We have a Senior Project Manager opportunity based at our Haslar/PTP site working with our Platform Design and Life-support Systems Integrated Delivery Team (PDLS IDT). You will be responsible for delivery of Estates projects for the Maritime Strategic Capabilities Agreement (MSCA) and tasked with ensuring our commitments to our internal and external stakeholders are met. Our projects have a diverse and complex stakeholder community, both internal and external to the company.

Why This Role Is Different

Based within our Platform Design and Life-support Systems Integrated Delivery Team (PDLS IDT), you'll oversee a diverse portfolio of estates projects supporting the Maritime Strategic Capabilities Agreement (MSCA).

No two projects are the same. One day you could be leading a major facility refurbishment, the next delivering specialist infrastructure that enables cutting-edge maritime research and testing.

Working across a broad stakeholder network, you'll be trusted to balance cost, quality, risk and programme performance while ensuring projects are delivered safely, securely and successfully.

What you will be doing:

• Delivery of high value (£5m per annum) or complex projects and development and maintenance of positive engagement with project customers, partners and suppliers
• Maintenance of forecasts for delivery which reflects the up-to-date expectations for the work
• Defining and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the Project within this budget and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost plan
• Management of project documentation to include Bids, proposals and third-party documentation
• Deploy appropriate risk management strategies and methods for controlling quality and ensuring the team are operating in a Safe & Secure manner

Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager - Estates:

• Experience delivering projects to up to 3 different customers
• Experience of delivering construction or refurbishment projects following RIBA stages
• Detailed knowledge of Building Regulations, JSP standards and environmental legislation and ecological regulation as well as working knowledge of NEC contracts as well as JCT & RIBA
• Extensive experience of the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations and must have acted as client or similar role on a construction related project
• A detailed range of knowledge of civil engineering, infrastructure and building works methods

Essential qualifications for the Senior Project Manager:

• Demonstrable capability to International Project Management Association Level B
• Hold a recognised PM qualification (APM Project Professional Qualification (PPQ) or Prince2

This role is 37 hours per week based on site.Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
