About the role

Are you ready to lead major infrastructure projects that make a real difference? Join Balfour Beatty, a global leader in construction and engineering, as a Senior Project Manager and take charge of delivering high-profile highways schemes - starting with the exciting A22 Improvement Project.

Responsibilities
  • Drive the successful delivery of major highways projects from planning through to completion.
  • Manage end-to-end project activities, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring exceptional engagement and satisfaction.
  • Oversee financial performance, meeting profit and margin targets.
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices across all project phases.
Qualifications
  • A proven leader with experience managing large-scale highways projects.
  • Strong people management skills – able to inspire and get the best out of your team.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation abilities.
  • Knowledge of highways management, operations, and tender processes.
  • Ideally, a Chartered Civil Engineer (desirable but not essential).
Skills & Experience
  • Significant contract management experience in civil engineering or construction.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Confident communicator with strong organisational and writing skills.
  • PC literate with MS Office proficiency.
