Responsibilities

• Manage projects across pre-contract and post-contract stages from feasibility to handover.
• Prepare programmes, maintain risk registers, coordinate design information and produce client reports.
• Chair project meetings, monitor milestones and manage multidisciplinary teams of architects, engineers and cost consultants.
• Advise on procurement strategy, consultant appointments, tender processes, change control and contract administration.
• Identify risks early and deliver commissions to agreed briefs, budgets and quality standards.

A well-established construction consultancy is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Reigate team and lead a varied portfolio of building projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager with strong consultancy experience to take responsibility for projects from initial brief through to completion. The successful Senior Project Manager will work closely with clients, consultants and contractors while maintaining control of programme, risk, quality and project governance.

The Senior Project Manager will lead commissions independently, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and provide clear strategic advice throughout the project lifecycle. This Senior Project Manager position would suit a confident, commercially aware professional who can manage complex stakeholder relationships and maintain high standards of client service. As the Senior Project Manager, you will also support junior colleagues and contribute to the continued growth of the Reigate office.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Senior Project Manager\'s role

The Senior Project Manager will manage projects across pre-contract and post-contract stages, from feasibility and design development through procurement, construction and handover. Responsibilities will include preparing programmes, managing risk registers, coordinating design information and producing detailed client reports.

The Senior Project Manager will chair project meetings, monitor key milestones and manage architects, engineers, cost consultants and contractors. You will also advise on procurement strategy, consultant appointments, tender processes, change control and contract administration.

The role will require the Senior Project Manager to identify risks early, provide practical solutions and ensure each commission is delivered in line with the agreed brief, programme, budget and quality standards.

The Senior Project Manager

The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

1. Strong project management experience within a construction consultancy.
2. A relevant degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
3. Chartered status through RICS, APM or CIOB, or progress towards chartership.
4. Experience delivering projects through both pre-contract and post-contract stages.
5. Good knowledge of JCT contracts and common procurement routes.
6. Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams.
7. Strong client-facing, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
8. The ability to manage several commissions and competing priorities.
