Astute's Renewables team is partnered with an established anaerobic digestion business that designs, builds, owns and operates assets. They're looking to recruit an experienced Senior Project Manager to support their expanding portfolio.

The Senior Project Manager role comes with a salary of up to 90,000 (depending on experience), car allowance, bonus, pension, private health and dental care.

Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Project Manager role
  • Manage all phases of the project life cycle: Initiation, Planning, Design, Execution, Control & Monitoring, and Completion.
  • Lead project planning including scope, timelines, resources, budgeting, and WBS.
  • Track project performance using KPIs and proactively address risks and delays.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly reports and dashboards for stakeholders and steering groups.
  • Act as the primary liaison for the client, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and Local Authorities and Local Community Relations.
  • Manage all project documentation and control systems.
  • Oversee quality assurance to ensure compliance with design, construction, and commissioning standards.
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues, maintaining RAID and decisions registers.
  • Lead change management processes and coordinate approval of variations.
  • Manage contracts, RFQs, supplier negotiations, and resolve claims.
  • Collaborate with finance team to control project budgets, forecasts, and cashflows.
  • Coordinate project completions, from engineering to handover and operator training.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, including HSE, CDM, EA, and other UK standards.
  • Manage internal and external project meetings, contractor resources, and site activity.
  • Oversee procurement strategies and design coordination.
  • Monitor schedules to ensure delivery on time and to budget.
  • Other duties as required.
Professional qualifications
  • NVQ 5, HNC/HND/Degree in an engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Project Management Certificate.
  • HSE Certification in Managing Safely.
  • Full UK driving licence.
Personal skills
  • Five years of experience working on anaerobic digestion "Gas-to-Grid" projects, or a similar (e.g., water treatment, energy from waste).
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office programs and project planning software such as Procore.
  • Excellent communication and interface skills.
  • Must be willing to commute to the client's head office in Peterborough and to project site locations in the UK.
