Job summary

Insight Executive Group is recruiting a Senior Project Manager on behalf of an NHS Trust in the North West of England. The contract role manages a portfolio of concurrent capital infrastructure and sustainability projects across active hospital sites.

You will oversee a programme with a combined value of circa £10m, coordinating design teams, contractors and Trust stakeholders while ensuring governance, cost control and timely reporting to the Trust board.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior PM, Programme Manager, or Capital Project Manager.
• Track record delivering capital works in live, operational environments (NHS estates preferred, healthcare or public sector estate considered).
• Confident managing multi-project portfolios with a combined value of £5m+.
• Strong governance, financial reporting, and stakeholder management.
• Available at short notice.

Responsibilities

• Manage concurrent capital projects across active hospital environments
• Coordinate design teams, contractors, and Trust stakeholders
• Procurement, phasing, cost management, and governance reporting
• Ensure invoices are paid on time and project budgets are not exceeded
• Monthly reporting on the capital programme with accurate financial reporting to Trust board
• Chair the capital finance steering group meetings

Contract: 6 months

I am recruiting for an experienced Senior Project Manager on behalf of an NHS Trust in the North West of England. This is a contract opportunity managing a portfolio of concurrent capital infrastructure and sustainability projects across active hospital sites.

The role

You will manage a portfolio of concurrent capital works across live hospital sites, with a combined programme value of circa £10m. The scope spans infrastructure, sustainability, and clinical department projects.

Example workstreams

• Roofing replacement, window replacement, and solar panel installation across two sites (£3.5m)
• MRI department reconfiguration and machine installs (£3.5m)
• Gamma department reconfigurations and machine installs (£3.0m)
• Radiotherapy bunkers, SACT, PET CT, and Aseptic suite designs and feasibility studies

Key responsibilities
