Job Description

Our Energy and Natural Resources team is looking to expand its Project Management community. We are a close-knit team and we’re looking to welcome passionate and ambitious candidates across all our professional, senior professional and managerial grades who will support our early careers, grow into leadership roles and bring their skills and expertise to our communities of practice, fostering our values with specific emphasis to Bringing out the best in Everyone.

With exciting growth in the region including new Major Programmes, Projects and Clients, we’re looking for flexible and mobile Planning and Scheduling / Performance Reporting / Risk Management candidates to deliver services in our local region. Travel within the surrounding area is required depending on the project and can be discussed further during the recruitment process. MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE

To lead Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for end to end service delivery, often with respect to large or complex projects. To act as the key, day to day client interface, ensuring that client objectives are met and that projects are delivered to time and cost targets and the appropriate quality standards.

Key Accountabilities

Project management, to include:

  1. Advising at a strategic level at the project inception stage, including providing advice on the different approaches that can be adopted in order to successfully achieve the client’s overall objectives.
  2. Preparing and maintaining definitions of project requirements.
  3. Helping to establish the overall success criteria for the project, including time, cost, technical and performance parameters.
  4. Establishing effective project governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project.
  5. Preparing and maintaining schedules of activity, including producing the master project plan.
  6. Managing the development of the project in accordance with approved plans and targets.
  7. Developing and implementing resource plans and procurement of resources.
  8. Leading and facilitating the overall cross-functional project team.
  9. Monitoring and applying performance management techniques, including the use of KPI’s to improve project performance.
  10. Managing the change control process.
  11. Developing and agreeing budgets and controlling forecast and actual costs against them.
  12. Managing the flow of project information between the team and the client, through regular meetings and written communications.
  13. Identifying and monitoring project risks and planning and implementing risk mitigations.
  14. Preparing formal project progress and other reports.
  15. Taking a leading role in interfacing with the client, other consultants, and managing stakeholders at all project stages.
  16. Advising the client regarding Health & Safety and Environmental issues and risks.
  17. Planning for and the ongoing management of quality, safety, health and environment issues.

Qualifications

  • NEC (3/4) accreditation (preferred).
  • Preferred if chartered/qualified with ICE, APM, RICS etc.
  • Candidates will ideally be degree qualified in a construction related subject.
