Overview

The Project Manager will lead the IT Services workstream for tenders. This role is pivotal in shaping the organisation's technical response to Local Authority franchise requirements, demonstrating capability, experience, and innovation in delivering high-quality services supported by robust IT infrastructure. The position requires strong collaboration across technical and operational teams to ensure IT solutions meet franchise objectives and support strategic growth.

Responsibilities
  • Act as the lead for IT Services within franchise tenders, ensuring IT activities, costs, and technical information are accurately represented in tender responses.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and subject matter experts across Engineering, Operations, Commercial, and other relevant domains.
  • Produce high-quality written responses to Local Authority questions, articulating how IT Services support franchise delivery.
  • Define and describe IT Services and readiness.
  • Showcase organisational capability through examples of past service delivery and innovation.
  • Propose new IT initiatives that enhance service levels and align with Local Authority objectives.
  • Develop detailed mobilisation plans outlining IT Services activities required to commence operations.
  • Provide CapEx and OpEx estimates for mobilisation activities, ensuring financial transparency and feasibility.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in product management or technical bid writing within transport, infrastructure, or public sector environments.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems relevant to public transport operations.
  • Degree in a relevant field (preferred).
Essential skills
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into compelling bid responses.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills, particularly in cost modelling and mobilisation planning.
Desired skills
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in managing IT-related projects or bids within transportation or similar sectors.
